As of today, PJSC "Arzamas Machine-Building Plant" is an enterprise located in the perimeter of the management of LLC "Military Industrial Company" (Moscow).
Throughout its existence, the Arzamas Machine-Building Plant has become one of the leaders of the country's defense industrial sector, the only one enterprise in Russia producing wheeled armored vehicles, the leading enterprise of the machine-building industry of the Nizhny Novgorod region. Starting its activity with the production of cushioning devices, it has passed all stages of development on the way toward creating the end item – advanced samples of the world arms market.
It was founded in 1972 as the Arzamas Automobile Spare Parts Plant of the Gorky Automobile Manufacturing Association. In 1980, a government decision was made to place a military order at the enterprise. And in the same year, the plant released a completely new product − an army armored vehicle. And in 1981 already produced the first batch of special vehicles.
Recently, the delivery geography of products manufactured by PJSC "AMZ" has significantly expanded. Special-purpose equipment is highly popular among the military of Algeria, Hungary, Indonesia, Sudan, Djibouti, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, etc. Russian armored vehicles manufactured by JSC "AMZ" have "stepped over" the ocean and are conquering the Latin American market (Uruguay, Colombia). The company annually demonstrates its products at the largest international exhibitions of weapons and military equipment, including the international exhibition in Malaysia "Defense Service Asia", the Paris’s "Eurosatory", the South African’s "Africa Aerospace & Defense", the exhibition in the United Arab Emirates "Index" and so on.
Complementary to the supply of military equipment, one of the priority areas of the company's activities is an inextricable connection with corporate consumers for the entire period of the manufactured product. The plant carries out guarantee maintenance of equipment, carries out improvements, repairs and modernization of previously manufactured products. According to the decision of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation on the organization of maintenance service of military equipment in the troop forces by the manufacturing factory in 2010, a service center was established at the enterprise, whose specialists carry out scheduled maintenance of equipment, remanufacture, training of operation personnel, etc. Since 2010, as part of the implementation of export contracts, a new direction has been mastered at the enterprise — training of foreign specialists.
Annually, experts of the "Military Register" at PJSC "AMZ" carry out inspection check-up of the certified quality management system for conformity with a standards of GOST RV 15.002-2003 and GOST R ISO 9001-2008 standards.

На сегодняшний день ПАО «Арзамасский машиностроительный завод» — это предприятие, находящееся в периметре управления ООО «Военно-промышленная компания» (г.Москва).
За время своего существования Арзамасский машиностроительный завод стал одним из лидеров оборонно-промышленного комплекса страны, единственным предприятием в России по выпуску колесной бронетехники, ведущим предприятием машиностроительной отрасли Нижегородской области. Начиная свою деятельность с производства амортизаторов, он прошел все стадии развития на пути к созданию конечного продукта – передовых образцов мирового рынка вооружения.
Основан в 1972 году как Арзамасский завод автомобильных запасных частей Горьковского объединения по производству автомобилей. В 1980 году было принято правительственное решение о размещении на предприятии военного заказа. И в этот же год завод выпустил совершенно новое для него изделие − армейский бронетранспортер. А в 1981 году уже изготовил первую партию спецмашин.
За последнее время география поставок продукции производства ПАО «АМЗ» значительно расширилась. Техника спецназначения пользуется высокой популярностью у военных Алжира, Венгрии, Индонезии, Судана, Джибути, Вьетнама, Шри-Ланки, Узбекистана, Казахстана, Азербайджана и др. Российские бронемашины производства ОАО «АМЗ» «перешагнули» через океан и завоевывают рынок Латинской Америки (Уругвай, Колумбия). Предприятие ежегодно демонстрирует свою продукцию на крупнейших международных выставках вооружения и военной техники, среди которых международная выставка в Малайзии «Defense Service Asia», парижская «Eurosatory», южноафриканская «Africa Aerospace & Defence», выставка в Объединенных Арабских Эмиратах «Index» и многие другие.
Помимо поставки военной техники одним из приоритетных направлений деятельности предприятия является неразрывная связь с организациями-потребителями на весь период производимого изделия. Завод осуществляет гарантийное обслуживание техники, проводит доработки, ремонт и модернизацию ранее выпущенной продукции. По решению МО РФ об организации сервисного обслуживания военной техники в войсках силами завода-изготовителя в 2010 году на предприятии создан сервисный центр, специалисты которого осуществляют плановое обслуживание техники, восстановительный ремонт, обучение личного состава эксплуатации и т.п. С 2010 года в рамках выполнения экспортных контрактов на предприятии было освоено новое направление — обучение иностранных специалистов.
Ежегодно экспертами «Военного регистра» на ПАО «АМЗ» проводится инспекционный контроль, сертифицированной системы менеджмента качества на соответствие требованиям стандартов ГОСТ РВ 15.002-2003 и ГОСТ Р ИСО 9001-2008.
